This time however, it's a neutral but potentially positive thing, even if it does mean I'll be doing an absolute ton of work.
The boss wants me to re-write the grant that was triaged a few weeks back. Full-on, R01, 5-year, no oversight, major $$$ grant application.

Right. Why? Because I'll be bringing a new mindset, a fresher perspective, and a level of enthusiasm the boss knows she can't muster right now. (Yes, the enthusiasm driven by looming starvation and a desire to get paid for a living. /snark) Doesn't start for a few weeks, until the boss gets the summary statement back, so I've time to think. But... sheesh.
Why does Thursday hate me? WHY?
