I was a little TOO industrious this morning out at the strawberry fields. I only spent an hour picking, but I somehow wound up with nearly 20 pounds of berries. I've two batches of jam made so far, and probably another two to go (probably three, but I think I'm going to make pie with the last of the little red splotches). Unfortunately, the berries weren't nearly as ripe-to-mushiness as I like (they're best for preseves when deep red and exceedingly soft), so the flavor isn't quite as good as I'd prefer. But then, I'm a jam perfectionist.
Warning: if some of you local folks come home to find jars sitting on your doorstep, you'll know who's responsible.
