It is fascinating, and stunning, to actually realize, to decidedly notice, how our perceptions and appreciation of the world around us, are filtered through the understanding of our own significant life events.
I know that's not saying much, our life events are what define us, what shape our minds and our souls, if that's what you want to call them. That we see everything around us through the internal haze we all carry, and that we understand the world through these filters, is not surprising.
But to perceive how you, yourself have changed, and how that affects your appreciation for other life events... that really is something stunning. When you can point and say This would have affected me X, save that I experienced Y, so now I feel Z about it, it's not like seeing the lightbulb go off. It's more like watching the sun rise.
