tylik, I came across this editorial from the editors of The Stranger which is one of Seattle's alternative newspapers. Perhaps the best known, as well.
It makes several excellent points, but is insulting as all hell to those with whom it disagrees (i.e. the folks who voted for Bush). I understand that's part of their point, that it's coming down to forcing an educated, 'elitist' viewpoint in order to support the humanist values that [we] liberals believe in. Name-calling and insults are part of their approach, and the editors at the Stranger gleefully suppose that the folks they're slamming upside the head won't actually read an issue of their rag. Can't say that I agree with all of their points, but I wholly agree with the gist.
So, take a gander. Very good points, a disagreeable delivery, and something of a battlecry. Hop to it.
