It was wonderful having the chance to see so many of you again, especially for some of you whom I’ve not seen in 7-12 years (!!!). And I enjoyed meeting some new folks too, and expanding my Seattle community.
It was good to be out in Portland. I like the town a lot, even if it was inhospitably snowing on me at 10:30 on Saturday morning. I know that I’ve mentioned to some that there is the prospect of moving out in that direction, especially as my folks get older, and I think Portland would be a pretty cool town to settle in--as much as I love my "home" town of Seattle, I’d be forever comparing the current town to my memories of it, it has been that long... But time will tell.
I will say, however, that I was once again reminded of just how much I hate flying. Yes, the flights were cheap, but bouncing twice through Phoenix in three days meant I spent just a little too much time on my ass, in a tin-can, without shoulder or elbow room. Guh.
