When, on Sunday (which I took off, luxuriously so, doing absolutely nothing of any meaning whatsoever, for the first time in too long), I felt random body parts twinge and hurt, only to have each particular pain fade out, in some sort of strange cascading symphony of aches and pains, my roommate had this to say:
"You know those pains? Yeah, that's your body relaxing. It doesn't happen often enough."
He might be right. *sigh*
Had lunch with
arkaycee yesterday, and floored him when I rattled off the size of my latest data set that I've manipulated manually, just for one figure. Just because I consider 658 individual points of data "not that much" to work with... because the paper I'm working on consists of six figures built from ~1000 individual data points... each of which I triple-checked (entry into notebook, transfer from notebook to computer files, compilation of files 1-8 into final files 1 & 2)...
I might have a problem with scale, in comparison to other folks.
(Yes,
grimfaire, I know you get thousands of data points on a regular basis. You also have scripts to handle 90% of it. Shaddup.)
