Many, many, many thanks to
atdt1991,
galduric,
saraikennedy, and especially
netmouse, for all the fantastic help last night moving the furniture and odds'n'ends from my old place to Pearwood.
I'd thank my new roomie
grimfaire, but I'll be paying him back over the next few weeks by schlepping his stuff.
As Sken already mentioned in a post, after taking my usefully-sized horde of minions out to a thank-you dinner at Saica, my return to the neighborhood of the northside was greeted by not one, but three bright blue-green transformer triple explosions (yup, three transformers blowing thrice) and an immediate quenching of the parking lot lights. Was pretty. Poor neighbors, though. (the doom... it begins!)
And I think the only casualty of last night was when I parked the moving van back at the rental lot: In the mucky dark I hadn't noticed that I'd parked on top of a dirty ice patch, covered in fresh rain-water. I stepped out of the van, and immediately went about four feet laterally before going two-and-a-half feet vertically. I'd say my dignity was the only thing harmed, save that my entire lower back, the impact zone, is pretty damn sore (at least I didn't bash my head).
