I'll take it as a compliment for the way that I can find a science problem, take it apart, identify the crucial issues, and design experiments.
But as it affects my prelim exam, no, I ain't happy: in the past three months, two papers have come out that clearly address Aims #1 and 3 that I'd put forth in my prelim exam proposal. The reason I didn't see them before now is due to the PubMed database not having been totally up to date.
