Some days, when you're working in an old building with flaky A/C, and poor humidity control, I find that I can get grumpy about the heat generated by all of the equipment that we have to keep running.
On the other hand, it's the little things for which I am grateful in the lab.
Like being able to plant my face on an open shelf in the -80 C (-112 F) freezer to cool my overheated brain.
Like watching the humid air condense into fog as I breathe into open door of the freezer.
Like standing there for just 30 seconds and getting to feel the sweat freeze on my skin.
Okay, it's not really that hot today in here, but it is very, very sticky. And as we all know, Bear+Humidity=Grumpy Bear!=Happy Bear. So opening the freezer door for just a smidge is very, very nice.
