If I'd known that the boss was going to cancel this morning's lab meeting, I would've staggered back to bed and struggled to get some more sleep, before coming in to work around noon.

My brain is just not working today. Guh.

I keep going "Okay, now to do something at work!" and I stand up to go "Wait, what was I going to do...?" and I'm left with that incessant, niggling feeling that there's something just out of mental reach.

I hate headcolds.
This is a very, very cool page: Evolutionary Timeline

Each pixel represents 30,000 years from the estimated beginning of life.

Even at that resolution, the page itself is apparently 135 feet wide. (I don't have multi-screen capability, or a built-in screen ruler, so I have to take their word for it.)

The best part (stemming in part from a discussion last night with [livejournal.com profile] rjlona) is that all of human history, as measured from the evolutionary split of Australopithecus, fits into about 3 inches. If that. Heh.

NB: The page is not optimized for Opera, so I'm viewing it in IE. Don't have Firefox on this computer to test. You've been warned.
