(or however you spell that. Never took French, I don't remember the Russian, and I don't think most of you would go out of your way to load the Chinese character set.)
So, I've been on the boss' bad side of late. Only because she's riding me to get some rather difficult experiments done (technically I'm reprobing old membranes... but when the blots get old, they're useless) and I'm only able to return negative results ("That blot is eight months old, I'm not surprised I didn't get anything."). Thus, she's only requiring me to redo a whole pile of work, when my morale and motivation for this job are at an all time lows (and the trend is only getting lower), and I don't feel like doing shit. Surprised? No, not really. (And balancing out the lethargy and disinterest with the need to keep her appeased so she gives me good recommendations... *sigh*)
On the other hand, I just got my first job offer, for another tech job within the UM system. Hell, it'd even be a raise. And the people I'd be working with seem pretty cool. I'd just rather have more than one offer on the table at the moment, so I actually have a semblance of choice. But, hey, it's a job offer.
Allergies are making my life miserable right now.
I had lunch today with a good friend, my ex-cubemate. Haven't seen her in a few months, so it was good to catch up with her. Her first child is due in mid-October, so we were talking about plans for me to get over to her house and see both her and her hubby before their lives get all kinds of chaotic.
Plus, I greatly like my new icon, which is from a portrait done by Matt Bayne of Knights of the Shroud (free-access prologue here). He wanted to practice some portraiture, so I volunteered my newly-shaved head photo, and he took it. Yay! (Of course, I look like I should be holding a well blooded battle-axe and screaming epithets at my enemies, but, still, it's cool).
