Doing quite well, barring sleep-dep.

The three of us are, on the whole, in reasonably good shape. We had the option to go home today, but after consulting with one of the ob/gyn partners, Anne decided staying on with nursing care and attentive check-ups was not a bad thing. We were, for a while, clear of the roommates, but we acquired new ones--apparently UM Mott has had a Baby Blitz, with squadrons of storks with wing-mounted baby-bundle dispensers doing bombing runs across the city. I'm guessing St. Joe's has seen much the same phenomenon. We will be home tomorrow after our pediatrician signs the discharge.

About the only thing we need right now is sleep, I think. Our little girl is getting plenty of it (much as we were told), and Anne's doing a better job of taking the cat-naps. I, for all that I was sent home last night, didn't do too well (and slept less than Anne did during The Wait on Tuesday, i.e. not at all).

And as for my first official announcement online, we have named our daughter: Rosalind Jane. Or, if you're being familiar, Rosie, Roz, (Little) Jaybird, and Lin. Either pronunciation of Rosalind is fine at this point. I tend towards Rose-a-lind, Anne tends towards Roz-lind. It's amusing. To us. For now.

Don't forget, we're short on sleep. ;-)

Thank you so much for the update! I'm glad to hear from you.

I'm fairly practiced with the art of sleep dep, so I commiserate with your agony.

I want to get a Fozzie Bear doll for your lil one & name it Rozzie Bear to give to her.

(How do you & [livejournal.com profile] netmouse feel about teddy bears? That is, do you have any reluctance for your daughter to receive certain types of toys? I would think teddy bears would be gender-neutral, but perhaps you two would like to tamp down on traditional 'girl' toys like baby dolls, e&.)

All children need stuffed animals and dolls with which to practice social interaction. I tended more toward aliens than bears when i was little (I still have my ewok) but bears are fine by me - and the grizzly bear is a sort of totem to brian, after all.

You have a daughter of many names; excellent.

Love the image of those squadrons of storks and wing-mounted baby-bundle dismensers.

And for tomorrow, it's home sweet home. Yay!

So happy for the three of you! Hooray!

Staying in hospital is a very wise move. Stay as long as possible -- sadly, the nurses will not come home with you.

And I love her name! I was saying Roz-a-Lind, which neither of you is saying. But I love Rosie, too.

Much love (and wishes for a bit of rest).

That's a beautiful name, and I'm certain she's a beautiful little girl. So glad to hear that everybody is doing well, even considering the lack of sleep. I hear that's somethign you'll have to get used to. ;)

Congratulations again.

CONGRATULATIONS!
