Looks like South Park got it wrong; the Mormons don't have the right theory after all, but maybe Hinduism does?

Heh.

It's all so clear now!! *sits on the floor in contemplation*

So let's take this to its logical conclusion, given an infinite number of planets...

The universe was created by an infinite number of committees, all pulling in opposing directions.

Yup, sounds like good old random chance to me! :D

The Hindus, the Norse Pantheon, the lapsed Greco-Roman set... you name it, they're probably all in there somewhere. Especially the Norse, if you wann talk fractious...

Oh, and don't forget the thousand+ minor deities and watchful spirits of Tibetan Hinayana Buddhism. They all chipped in, too, I betcha!

And in a reference to Kick's comment... and this is just ONE PLANET! Woo-hoo!

Yup! Clear as mud! Shiny, happy, sparkly mud, mind you (given that each of the various Independent Deific Contractors would each want to put on their best displays), but still mud!

So, wait, are you espousing for hordes of Great Big Enormous Independent Deific Contractors, or are you going for Beings So Luminously Small And Multitudinous that they each qualify as sub-atomic particles?

Hrmm, I think you might've solved the Grand-Unified Theory problem... ;-)

Um... at least mud is a good moisturizer?

Especially shiny, happy, sparkly mud. It's the kind that stays between the cracks even after the shower.

If you take into consideration the fact that Thomas Edison is the Shinto god of electricity, does that make all human inventors deities? My dad's former boss claims to have invented paint-by-number...
