Work work, work work.

Last week was the first down-time I've had in about a year, and even that's stretching the definition. The lab was shut down for construction--a project above us needed access to the plumbing through our space--so I'd spent most of the week home, reading and Officially Pondering (which is significantly different from, and usually less fun, than Simply Woolgathering). Only finished about a third of the work I'd brought home (only read 17 papers), but that gave me a much-needed breather. This morning, back to the grind.

Unfortunately, the first thing the 'grind' means this morning is completing the clean-up job: wiping every surface down to get rid of the masonry dust. And as I went in yesterday to re-start my cultures, I know just how much mess that really means. Plus identifying and collecting the random construction pieces left behind (I *think* that was a pipe-clamp... or else a stirrup for one bad-ass cowboy), and last-but-not-least, returning and restoring all of the sensitive equipment that we'd hauled out into a temporary storage space to spare them the dust.

And the boss wants to get *how* much done, today? Riiiiiight...

At least I had a decidedly pleasant, highly sociable, and terribly geeky weekend (a comedy troupe show, a dim-sum outing, a party, a half-dozen new friends, and 16 episodes of Battlestar season 3) to get me in the right mood.

Alright, succumbing to the pressure.

Why, yes, yes I AM a nerd. Why do you ask?

NerdTests.com says I'm an Uber Cool Nerd God.

And now, when someone asks me if I'm a god, I can honestly say yes. So there.
